A member of our PS5 Facebook group was stumbling around Cash Converters this morning before they spotted a PlayStation 5 in a glass cabinet with a price tag of $1,500.
The store in question is located in Hampstead Gardens, South Australia, but other members of the group were quick to point out that there’s listings online for $1,800 and even $2,200 at other Cash Converters stores.
It’s no secret that PS5s are in hot demand right now with it being reported that PS5 and Xbox Series X scalpers made over $28 million dollars on eBay alone, but this is obviously taken to another level with retailers are selling consoles for more than double their RRP.
It’s unclear if anybody PS5s will become available in Australia before Christmas, but it’s looking more unlikely by the day. It’ll be interesting to see how in demand they are in 2021, and when we’ll be able to walk into a store and buy one without having to wait.
