Spider-Man Is Still Coming To Marvel’s Avengers But It Might Not Be This Year

Crystal Dynamics revealed a bunch of new content for Marvel’s Avengers yesterday, revealing that Black Panther was coming later this year alongside new areas for the game.

When the announcement of Spider-Man came, it was announced that he’d be joining the game exclusively on PlayStation in early 2021. Obviously now, we know that this isn’t the case, and a content roadmap that released yesterday, taking us all the way until Spring didn’t feature Spider-Man at all.

This left us wondering when Spider-Man would be coming to Marvel’s Avengers, but we now have answers, sort of. In an interview with IGN, Studio head Scot Amos said that Spider-Man would come to the game after Black Panther and revealed that Spider-Man was currently being worked on. “I can tell you that, officially, people are working on him right now”. said Amos.

So obviously, it sounds like the plan is for Spider-Man still to join the game, although you really have to ask the question in regards to how many people will be playing this game in 6-12 months, so it’ll be interesting to see how that shakes out over the long term.

If and when Spider-Man does arrive in the game, it will be a free addition, just like all the content that has released so far, has been.
