Sony has revealed the latest sales figures for PS5 sales and it’s all good news so far.
As of the end of March 31st, 7.8 million PS5s had been sold globally. This makes it the fastest selling console launch of all time in the same period, ahead of the PS4 which had reached 7.6 million units sold in the same time frame. The PS4 definitely didn’t have the same stock constraints which we’ve seen with the PS5 though.
When it comes to games, a total of 338.9 million games were sold in the fiscal year ending on March 21st on both PS4 and PS5. 17.8% (58.4m) were first party games.
When it comes to PlayStation Plus subscribers, the number is at 47.6 million as of March 31st, which is an increase from the 41.5 million PlayStation Plus people that were subscribed to the service at same point last year.

With games such as Returnal, Final Fantasy 7’s new episode and Ratchet & Clank all being PlayStation 5 exclusive and coming out in the next few months, it’s definitely going to be interesting to see how these numbers climb.
