Sony has announced overnight that it acquired Valkyrie Entertainment, a studio responsible for co-developing a plethora of well-known titles since its founding in 2002.
The Seattle-based developer has assisted in the production of games like 2018’s God of War, Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport 7 and over 100 others.
“Valkyrie Entertainment is a highly adaptable and respected studio which has produced high-quality work on a range of platforms from console to PC; and a variety of styles from action to games-as-a-service titles,” said Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios in a press release. “Valkyrie’s diverse capabilities will be welcomed by every team at PlayStation Studios as we continue to focus on delivering extraordinary gaming experiences.”
Most recently, Valkyrie Entertainment has been working alongside Sony Santa Monica on next year’s God of War Ragnarok.
