Knights of the Old Republic Remake

The Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake Is Apparently On Pause And Delayed Indefinitely

Not great

One of the most exciting announcements of the last 12 months was the fact that Aspyr would be developing a Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic Remake for PS5.

According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the project is in serious trouble and has been delayed indefinitely until the studio decides what to do next. The game’s art director has been fired as well as the design direction, with the game on pause until the studio decides what to do next.

A vertical slice of the game exists, which is what was shown to both Sony and LucasFilm in order to get sign off, but it is now being reported that a ridiculous amount of money went into creating the demo and it was not sustainable to be spending that amount of money for the length of the project.

The game was originally supposed to release by the end of 2022, with a realistic target now set before the end of 2025, but the future of the game now seems to be unclear.
