It feels like it’s been a heck of a wait, but SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is finally, nearly upon us.
Almost something of a spiritual successor to the PS2-era SpongeBob 3D platformers like Battle for Bikini Bottom, The Cosmic Shake is a brand-new title from Purple Lamp Studios – the same team that gave us the excellent Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated in 2020. The game releases on January 31st and looks to be an incredibly faithful homage to the early SpongeBob seasons, going as far as to include the original voice cast.
That cast, of course, comprising the main SpongeBob crew as well as iconic side characters like Pearl, Mrs Puff, King Neptune and now the mysterious Kassandra. You can see them all showcased in a new trailer that dropped today:
