The Good Guys Is Cancelling Those Discounted PlayStation VR2 Pre-Orders

It was too good to be true.

Yesterday we shared the deal of a lifetime for prospective PlayStation VR2 buyers with The Good Guys seemingly including Sony’s next-generation VR headset in a promo that allowed punters to secure one for 15% off of the original price.

While we had hope that these orders might stick, the unfortunate and inevitable has happened and it looks like TGG is correcting course and cancelling any pre-orders made with the discount code, which saw the standard kit go for $747 (was $879) and the Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle at $824 (was $959).

Multiple members in our Facebook groups who’d managed to snag a pre-order earlier have shared emails they received confirming the cancellation, calling the promotional price a “technical issue” and stating that the order won’t be progressed with the funds being returned to customers. You can see the message in question below:

It’s an unfortunate situation for anyone who excitedly thought they’d scored a hot price on one of the year’s most exciting bits of gaming tech, but not an entirely unexpected outcome.

As far as pre-orders for the PlayStation VR2 go, Amazon still has the best price currently, offers a pre-order price guarantee and doesn’t require an upfront deposit to secure one:

PlayStation VR2 launches on February 22nd alongside over 30 launch titles. You can find the whole line-up of games hitting at launch HERE.
