Featured on the box for this year’s official AFL game will be Melbourne FC’s Christian Petracca and Carlton FC’s Darcy Vescio.

Petracca finished equal third in the Brownlow Medal, won the best and fairest in 2021 and is now a 2 time All-Australian after being selected the past 2 seasons..

Vescio broke the record for most AFLW-career goals last year, where they booted five goals against the Gold Coast. Vescio became the first person to reach 50 goals in AFLW history in Round 8 against the GWS Giants, with the star forward now sitting at 51.

AFL 23 is the first AFL game by Melbourne’s Big Ant Studios since AFL Live, with NSW developer Wicked Witch developing the last few games in the series. It’s set to feature four-player online and local co-op with cross-play between platforms, with a management career mode including drafting and player development. You’ll also be able to create your own clubs, players and stadiums and share them with the world, and commentary will be presented by Anthony Hudson, Hamish McLachlan, Daisy Pearce, Daniel Harford, Kelli Underwood and Jason Bennett.

We got a first look at gameplay late last year for the grand final, and you can see that below:

In the last drop of information around the game we got to see a ton of new screenshots showing off the teams in-action, as well as the AFLW and some team intros.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear/see more about AFL 23 in the lead-up to our review around launch.
