The Resident Evil 4 Remake Shifted Over 3 Million Copies In Just Two Days

What're ya buyin'? This game, probably.

Capcom has announced a staggering result for sales of its recently-released remake of Resident Evil 4, with the game moving over 3 million units in its first two days on the market.

That number makes it the second fastest-selling Resident Evil game behind Resident Evil 6, which managed to rack up more than 4.5 million sales in that same time period. It beats out Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 2 remake which both took twice as long to hit those numbers and, as VGC points out, has sold more in a weekend than the original Resident Evil 4 sold in a year.

In the press release, Capcom attributes a lot of this success to high review scores, as well as attention brought to the game through its free demo – a practice that the company seems to be committed to continuing for many of its titles.

We published one of those incredibly-positive reviews ourselves, giving the game an astronomical 10/10 score and saying, “Resident Evil 4 translates a game already revered into an absolute masterpiece. The tension is heightened and the combat is stronger than ever, all while still maintaining the corny dialogue and humour that the original game was known for. While there are a few minor aspects missing, Resident Evil 4 is a strong example of what any remake should be and is well worth your time.”

Next for the game is the return of its The Mercenaries Mode, coming via free DLC as soon as April 7th.

Resident Evil 4 is now available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Amazon has the cheapest price at $84.99 with free shipping.
