Resident Evil 4’s Free The Mercenaries Mode DLC Is Coming Pretty Soon

HUNKer down for this one.

Capcom has announced that its stellar remake of Resident Evil 4, which launched today, is getting its free The Mercenaries Mode DLC fairly soon, on April 7th.

The mode, which kind-of-debuted in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis but found its feet in the original release of Resident Evil 4, is an arcade-like experience that sees players attempt to rack up high scores against hordes of the game’s enemies within a time limit, taking down bosses, extending their allotted time and even encountering unique enemies, with multiple playable characters to choose from.

Capcom hasn’t shown off any gameplay footage of the new version of Resident Evil 4’s The Mercenaries Mode but it’s possible that it could have expanded on the original’s mode with some of the updates seen in The Mercenaries for Resident Evil Village.

We gave the game an incredible 10/10 in our review, saying “Resident Evil 4 translates a game already revered into an absolute masterpiece. The tension is heightened and the combat is stronger than ever, all while still maintaining the corny dialogue and humour that the original game was known for. While there are a few minor aspects missing, Resident Evil 4 is a strong example of what any remake should be and is well worth your time.”
