Destiny 2 Just Got A Bunch Of PlayStation-Themed Cosmetics

"That samurai came from the moon!"

PlayStation and Bungie have decided to celebrate their partnership by releasing a drop of gorgeous, new cosmetics for Destiny 2 based on some iconic PlayStation Studios games.

With a combination of armour ornament sets, vehicle skins and emotes from fan-favourite games, there’s a lot of cool stuff here. God of War, Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima make up the three new ornaments, while Ratchet & Clank has inspired a new emote featuring a shiny gold bolt, and The Last of Us makes up a triple-threat of a Ghost shell, Sparrow and ship skin. Bungie collaborated with the teams responsible for each of the games featured to make these a truly authentic homage to PlayStation Studios titles.

They’re all a part of Destiny 2’s new Season of the Deep, which brings a new seasonal story set deep on Titan’s ocean floor, a new six-player Salvage activity, weekly activities, new gear, dungeon, fishing (!) and more to the game. You can purchase the Destiny 2: Season of the Deep Silver Bundle on the PlayStation Store.

Sony has also put together a comprehensive post on the PlayStation Blog explaining what’s special about these new cosmetics and diving deep into how the team at Bungie took inspiration from each of the games featured to craft these celebratory new bits of gear.

Of course, new cosmetics aren’t the only thing to come of PlayStation’s acquisition of Bungie last year, with the studio tapped to help push a whole new world of first-party live service PlayStation Studios games. There’s a good chance we’ll start to see some of the fruits of that endeavour revealed tomorrow morning as a brand new, lengthy PlayStation Showcase livestream premieres across the globe.
