Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Is Coming In Early 2024 And Will Span Two Discs

Life comes full circle.

The Summer Game Fest Showcase premiered today, bringing with it a heap of new game reveals, trailers and exciting updates on a ton of games across a stacked show.

The stacked show was capped off by a stunning new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the direct sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII remake. The gameplay reveal features new looks at exploration, including Chocobo riding, and some very intriguing story teases that fans are sure to be discussing at length in the coming days and weeks. We get to see some exciting combat, including Red XIII as a playable party member, finally. The game will take players across the wide world of Gaia in pursuit of Sephiroth in this “standalone adventure.”

Lastly and excitingly, a release window for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was revealed, with the game coming in “Early 2024” for PlayStation 5. It was also revealed that the game will ship across two discs – a bit of a throwback to those who played the original across three discs on PS1. Sounds like this game is going to be absolutely massive.
