Here’s A New Look At Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth From RGG Summit 2023

Give it all to me!

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio brought back its RGG Summit after a successful showing last year, this time bringing new details to two of the announced titles from last time – Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Introduced by the legendary Masayoshi Yokoyama, it was a relatively slim but interesting dive into the exciting stuff that RGG Studio has cooking for fans across both games, with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name releasing on November 9th and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth coming in Early 2024.

It was also revealed that another RGG Summit is coming later this year around September/Tokyo Game Show season.

Everything Announced At The RGG Summit

Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

We got to see a trailer for Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name, as well as an introduction to the premise of this title taking place between the 7th and 8th Like a Dragon games in the city of Sotenbori, including the explanation that the loss of Kiryu’s name comes with the fact that he’s supposed to be dead after Yakuza 6, and that his new suit and glasses totally make it impossible to know who he is.

Alongside a familiar street fighting combat style, his new Agent fighting style takes inspiration from spy action and focuses on crowd control with wire gadgets and drones. Also, not-Kiryu flicks a cigarette into a group of enemies and they explode, which is badass. Like last time, a bunch of the voice cast got on stage to talk about their characters and experience in working on the game.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Opening with the same “sun’s out, buns out” trailer that we saw at the Xbox Games Showcase, with Yokoyama-san confirming that the scene in question is actually in the game itself.

Naturally, Infinite Wealth is set after Yakuza: Like a Dragon and will feature locations like Yokohama and Ijincho, but also of course whatever mysterious location we saw in the trailer… which the team wouldn’t reveal.

We also got to see a new scene from the game featuring an adorable conversation between Ichiban Kasuga and not-Kiryu, with the two discussing Kasuga-san making a failed proposal to Saeko and a tease of not-Kiryu’s romantic history. You can see the scene below:
