A New PS5 Console Bundle Has Been Revealed But It Won’t Come To Australia

It's Premium, dude!

Twitter account @Zuby_Tech, which has previously leaked legitimate PS5 console bundle releases, has dropped another reveal of an upcoming bundle for the disc-based PlayStation 5, this time one that comes packaged with 24 months of PlayStation Plus Premium.

The bundle is reportedly set to be available through telco providers on a subscription basis not unlike what Xbox currently does with its Xbox All Access console and Game Pass subscription service, with at least one international provider already offering it, but it’s unclear if this bundle will also see a retail release.

Either way, while the added PlayStation Plus tiers are available here in Australia, our equivalent to the Premium membership is PlayStation Plus Deluxe, a slightly cheaper version that misses out on any of the features requiring cloud streaming, like a PS3 game catalogue.

Naturally, that means we won’t see this particular bundle hit Aussie shores at all, unless Sony decides to offer a repackaged Deluxe version and potentially sling it through one of our local providers. Hopefully that’s the case, as a PS5 console packaged with two full years of hundreds of game is certainly one of the more attractive offers out there.

This new bundle is another in a list of things that PlayStation is doing to celebrate a year since it launched the new PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Deluxe tiers. It’s also giving away a PS5 console and PS VR2, dropping a massive new line-up of games for the Extra/Deluxe catalogues and a heap more.

June’s PlayStation Plus catalogue additions land tonight and include some banger. The headline addition is Far Cry 6, which might not set everyone’s butts on fire but is still a decent entry into the franchise and a good open world romp to fart around in for the low price of entry. The real wins though are indie gems like Inscryption, The Talos Principle, Tacoma, Carto, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and of course – My Friend Peppa Pig.
