NBA 2K24’s Cover Athlete Has Been Revealed As Kobe Bryant

Sharing the Mamba Mentality

2K has revealed two of the covers for its upcoming entry in the annual basketball series, NBA 2k24.

This year’s covers will feature none other than 18-time All-Star, five-time NBA World Champion, two-time Finals MVP, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, Kobe Bryant, marking his fourth time on the game’s cover and second since his passing away. Fittingly, most of Bryant’s career was spent wearing the No.24 jersey, making this a timely tribute to the athlete who lost his life at age 41 in a tragic helicopter accident in 2020.

The developer revealed the covers in a tweet, showing off the art for both the game’s Kobe Bryant Edition, and Black Mamba Edition, with no other information being shared right now. Pre-orders look to be opening soon though, either late today or early tomorrow, so we’ll more than likely see what’s in each of these two versions and find out other details then.

2K also shared the first looks at Kobe in-game in NBA 2K24:

In our 8/10 review of last year’s game, we said “Refinements to core aspects of NBA 2K23’s gameplay make for some of the most fluid and enjoyable action seen in some years, and it’s all capped off with the excellent Jordan Challenge. It’s not perfect by any means, but this year’s NBA 2K is certainly a big step up from previous entries.”
