Like A Dragon Gaiden’s Latest Trailer Shows Off Combat, Side Activities And An Infinite Wealth Demo

As if I needed more reasons to buy this game.

SEGA and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio dropped another trailer for this year’s upcoming Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name over the weekend, a hefty seven-minute showcase of the game’s story, combat and other gameplay that’s sure to have fans excited for what looks like the quintessential LaD experience dressed in the trappings of a “side” entry set between the events of two mainline games.

The trailer reintroduces fans to series icon Kiryu’s new secret identity of “Joryu,” setting up events of the story and also giving us a lengthy look at Kiryu’s two distinct fighting styles in combat including the Agent Style’s new high-tech gadgetry. We also get a good look at the game’s side activities which will include a heap of the series’ staples like karaoke, pocket circuit racing and arcade games as well as a live-action cabaret club and an arena for large-scale brawls.

RGG Studio Director Masayoshi Yokoyama introduced the new trailer, and also explained the video’s closing tease which reveals that those who pick up and complete Like a Dragon Gaiden will get access to a special “trial version” of next year’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The demo will apparently include scenes not found in the final game, implying it’s more of a short playable bridge between The Man Who Erased His Name and Infinite Wealth.
