This morning saw the premier of the year’s first PlayStation State of Play, which gave us a look at around 40 minutes of reveals and updates on games coming to PlayStation in 2024 and beyond. There were some neat surprises (early leaks be damned) as well as some exciting extended looks and new information on upcoming games.
One big surprise came at the end of the presentation, hot off of the back of a completely bonkers new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. We got a surprise appearance from Hideo Kojima himself who revealed, along with PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst, that he is returning to his action espionage roots to create a brand-new IP within a project titled “PHYSINT” for PlayStation which will include a game as well as a movie, and no doubt even more cross-media stuff.
