There’s been a lot of confusion with the Grand Theft Auto 6 launch and whether there would be a disc coming post launch, and a report from The Hollywood Reporter seems to have put that to bed.

Confusion began earlier this week when Rockstar Support replied to a customer saying that “you will be able to acquire a physical copying during the following months” which people took to mean that Rockstar was planning to release a disc edition, but this was simply referring to the physical edition that is already up for pre-order (in a physical boxed sense).

The Hollywood Reporter has said that a source familiar with Rockstar’s plans says that there’s no current plans for discs to be printed at launch and not in the months after.

“At this point in time, there are no plans for Grand Theft Auto VI discs to be printed — not at launch, and not months after.”

Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders dropped earlier this week with an RRP of $130, but Amazon has dropped a slightly better pre-order deal at $125 with free shipping.

Obviously, Amazon offer a pre-order price guarantee as well, so if it does drop even further between when you pre-order and release, it’ll automatically drop in price for your pre-order.

It’s been confirmed that you’ll be able to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition digitally (HERE) for $30 as well, so this technically makes the Ultimate Edition of the game $155 if you’re wanting to buy it this way.
