Halloween: The Game Will Now Get A Digital Release In New Zealand

Australia is still missing out for the time being...

Following from the high profile banning of Halloween: The Game in Australia and New Zealand this past week, the official X page for Halloween: The Game has taken to socials to provide an update regarding the game’s availability in New Zealand.

According to their statement, the team received further guidance from the Office of Film and Literature Classification in New Zealand that Halloween: The Game would be available on digital storefronts in the territory.

“When we partnered with physical distributors to sell packaged goods in Australia and New Zealand, we learned that the ACB rating (used for physical) took precedence of the IARC rating (used for digital),” the statement reads.

“When the ACB refused us a rating, it meant the removal of both physical and digital versions in those territories.”

“We cannot thank the OFLC, the fans, and the gaming community enough for their support and patience, and cannot wait for New Zealanders to enjoy this game.”

The statement notes that the title should begin to reappear on digital storefronts for pre-order in the coming days.
