A bunch of other details have also been revealed.
After the official announcement of AFL Evolution last week, the developer Wicked Witch took to their Facebook page to reveal some more details about the upcoming game.
The most important confirmation comes in the form of the game’s commentator. The developer has confirmed that the now retired Dennis Cometti will be the main commentator in the game. Special commentary will be provided by former Richmond star, Matthew Richardson.
They’re stating that every part of the game has been rebuilt from the ground up for the new consoles. The team has managed to take the best bits of AFL Live 1 and AFL Live 2 as well as some influence from the older Big Ant developers to create. They believe that what they have created is the best game for fans.
In career mode, you’ll be able to play and manage teams. Pro mode will allow you to play as one player through a career. An online fan hub system and a dozen smaller features such as body shapes, tattoos, grubber kicks and lob handballs will all be featured.
The Fan Hub will allow for creating full teams and lineups and you’ll be able to manage this cross platform. The game will not have a stadium editor.
The game features both career mode and pro mode. In both, you’ll be able to start as an U18 player and work your way up for the VFL before eventually getting drafted into an AFL team. You can also play as an existing player or go straight into the AFL Premier League.
AFL Evolution will come to PS4, Xbox One and PC in the first half of next year.
