Kena Bridge Of Spirits Review

Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Is Finally Coming To Xbox

Bridge of Platforms.

After early ratings somewhat broke the news early, Ember Lab, developer of the gorgeous little action adventure, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, has finally revealed that the game is finally making its way to Xbox consoles.

Kena will launch for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on August 15th, after being a PlayStation and PC exclusive since it first debuted in 2021.

Those who pick up the game for Xbox consoles will be able to access some exclusive in-game content including pirate-themed Rot hats, as well as a unique staff for Kena and a Golden Rot skin. A physical edition is also coming, which will feature the game, a digital soundtrack, and a sticker sheet. The game will also come with the Anniversary DLC update, which adds a New Game Plus mode among other handy new features and improvements.

“We’re thrilled to bring the story of Kena to a new audience on Xbox platforms,” writes Ember Lab’s CFO, Josh Grier, in an accompanying press release. “As our debut game, Kena means a great deal to everyone at the studio and the team is excited to share Kena’s journey with more players—we really hope everyone enjoys meeting Kena and her Rot friends!”

I gave Kena: Bridge of Spirits a solid 8/10 in my review when it first dropped on PS5 and PC, saying, “As an indie effort and a debut game, Kena: Bridge of Spirits makes a good impression. It balances simplicity and challenge while weaving a neatly-paced story into something that can be played over a chill couple of days. Despite fantastic production values it’s still far from a AAA title – so it’s important to keep expectations in check, but anyone looking to lose themselves in a charming, gorgeous world ripe for exploration should look no further. It’s exactly what I needed right now – perfect cozy weekend entertainment.”
