It’s been long spoken about as a feature that would one day come, but according to The Verge Xbox Cloud Gaming will finally add the ability to stream games that you own starting in November.
This means that you’ll be able to at least stream part of the games library that you own, meaning that games won’t have to be on Xbox Game Pass for you to be able to stream them away from your library.
Obviously, this will likely only work for digital games that you have purchased, which makes sense given Xbox just updated its app so that you can purchase games directly through it. This would presumably allow you to buy a game on the app on either your phone or TV, then start streaming directly regardless of whether you own an Xbox or whether that game is already on Xbox Game Pass.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether it will be all games, or will start with a select number of popular games with the range expanding, but we’ll let you know when we have official word from Xbox on this one.
In my opinion this is another huge step forward for Xbox Cloud Gaming. I’ve been a big fan of it, and think it’s a great way to makes games more accessible.
