Today the Wolfenstein franchise announced its newest entry Wolfenstein: The New Order.
Cult classic Wolfenstein 3D helped to popularize the first person shooter genre back in 1992.
Bethesda made the announcement today stating that Machinegames’ will be leading the development cycle. After Activision previously tried to re-vamp the series popularity with its 2009 release of Wolfenstein which was met with average reviews all across the gaming universe.
Creative director of MachineGames, Jens Matthies had this to say “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”
Can the new management stoke up the smoldering ashes that currently is Wolfenstein? We will find out in the 4th quarter of this year when it appears on 360, PS3, PC and next generation consoles.
