Dave The Diver’s PS5/PS4 Release Has A Date And It’s Coming To PlayStation Plus Extra

A deep discount, indeed.

We knew that Dave the Diver was headed to PlayStation consoles this month after it was announced in a PlayStation State of Play showcase earlier in the year, but not only do we now have a firm release date but it’s also been revealed that the game will be launching straight into the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue for PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe subscribers.

The game will arrive alongside the next drop of games for Extra/Deluxe, meaning it’s launching for PS5 and PS4 on April 16th, 2024.

The game’s director, Jaeho Hwang took to the PlayStation Blog to reveal the news as well as go over a bit of a breakdown of how the game’s concept came together and what new players can expect from the game which released to huge acclaim on PC and Switch last year and went one to take numerous award nominations (some more contentious than others).

According to the blog post, Dave the Diver’s PS5 version will version haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for “increased sensory engagement”  as players plumb its mysterious depths and “feel the delicate vibrations” in the variety of mini-games that await them.

In just a short amount of time after this launch, Dave the Diver will also get its free Godzilla DLC, which promises some added kaiju-sized fun across all relevant platforms. “Prepare to meet the King of the Monsters in the Blue Hole,” as they say.

PlayStation is yet to reveal what else is coming in the new line-up of PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe games on April 16th, but we did just get a trio of new offerings for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers this week which includes the sorely-underplayed Immortals of Aveum along with Minecraft Legends and Skul: The Hero Slayer. You can find out more about those and claim the games right here.
