Hank Green, the founder of VidCon has announced that VidCon will be coming to Melbourne in 2017. This is due to the fact that 80% of all YouTube views are now coming from outside the United States.
VidCon is the annual gathering of online stars and their fans. The conference is celebrating it’s 7th event on Thursday in LA. It’s expected that the Australian event will draw in fans from surrounding countries such as the Phillipines. It’ll also be expanding to the Netherlands in 2017.
It’s currently slated to take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 9th and September 10th in 2017.
“These places have their own stars, and they also love some of the same stuff that’s popular in the States,” Hank Green told the Los Angeles Times.
