Dark Souls Creator Weighs In On Future Of The Franchise

Dark Souls creator Hedataka Miyazaki has revealed that for him at least, the Dark Souls franchise has come to an end.

“For me, Dark Souls III is the end. But that doesn’t mean the end for Dark Souls. If someone other than myself, like another staff member, wants to make a Dark Souls, then I don’t want to deny others from making future instalments.”

Miyazaki knows that a lot of people love the franchise, due to the fact that it has a steep difficulty curve and is incredibly satisfying. It’s clear that he doesn’t want to completely rule out the possibility of a new Dark Souls 4.

Dark Souls 3 will have one last hurrah, with The Ashes of Ariandel expansion coming out on October 26th.
