Roadhog’s Hook Is Finally Getting Nerfed In Overwatch

Blizzard has revealed a major balance change for one of the game’s Roadhog. Designer Geoff Goodman has revealed what the team has in store for the character.

The update will change how Roadhow’s hook operates. It will make it so that the hooked enemy will arrive in the position directly in front of Roadhoag, rather than being dragged in a straight line towards him.

This is to counteract players who were exploiting the hook by pulling someone in, spinning 180 and dumping them off a cliff. This will hopefully make the hook feel more consistent for both Roadhog and his enemies.

Roadhog will also need to maintain a line-of-sight at all times in order to successfully hook an enemy.

“There is a new persistent line-of-sight check back to Roadhog once the hook has landed. If this check fails, the hook breaks off and returns to Roadhog,” said Goodman.

These changes will hopefully roll out to the PTR in the near future before finding their way into the main game, depending on how the community responds to them.
