In the wake of Halo Infinite’s gameplay debut at the Xbox Games Showcase this past week, a new internet sensation has been born. The demo already has received its share of criticism, from the plastic textures to the pop-in and out that mars the game’s visuals at every other turn, but by breaking it down frame-by-frame, viewers have unearthed the deadpanned Brute now known community-wide as Craig.
The inscrutable hulk’s name and meme status were cemented by Brian Jarrad, who acts as community director at developer 343 Industries, who’s been having a lot of fun with it and have since leaned into the meme. They’ve even gone so far as to ask for the community’s best efforts and they’re coming in big numbers.
Send me your Craig memes.

There have been hundreds that have been doing the rounds, fortunately, they’re in good spirit for the most part. So here’s a selection of our favourite Craig the Brute memes, of course, powered by Xbox.
I’ll also note that though we’re embedding select tweets, it’s tough to know who’s responsible for any particular meme so if appropriate credit isn’t attributed, we do apologise.

Of course, there’s a lot of water to go under the bridge now and release for Halo Infinite and we’re of course hopeful that the team will pull it all together. Be sure to read our rundown of everything we know about Halo Infinite so far.
Halo Infinite will launch alongside the Xbox Series X this holiday season, though no release date has been confirmed as yet.
