It’s finally happening. It was revealed that the next flagship Assassin’s Creed game after Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is a game currently called Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red and it will take the franchise to Feudal Japan and let you live out your shin-obi fantasy.
The game is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec (AC: Odyssey) under the creative direction of Jonathan Dumont. The game will be apart of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed hub which is called Assassin’s Creed: Infinity. It was mentioned that it is a flagship mainline Action RPG, so we’re not sure about size of the game, but it does sound like it’s closer to the likes of Odyssey more-so than Mirage.
Unfortunately we don’t have a release window at all although if Mirage is set to release in 2023, it’s likely that we’ll see this in 2024 or 2025. Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe was also revealed which is set to be a different AC game that focuses on witchcraft.
