Father's Day

The Best Tech & Gaming Father’s Day Gifts That’ll Prove Why You’re The Favourite

Buying a Father’s Day gift can be hard, but we thought we’d put together some tech options, a couple of gaming options and some random options to make this Father’s Day extra special. We’ve tried to pick retailers with free shipping where possible, and all of the below should arrive before Father’s Day on September 6th, but obviously get cracking.

SMART HOME/TECH

Something that’ll delight any dad is a smart speaker. You can grab an Amazon Echo Dot for $79 or even an Amazon Echo Show 5 (it has a screen) for $95. If you’d rather go down the Google route, you can grab a Google Home Mini for $52 or a Google Home Hub (also has a screen) for $138.36. If you want to go down the streaming path, you can get them an Amazon Fire TV Stick for $69 so they can watch the likes of Netflix, YouTube, Stan etc on their TV. There’s also the UE Boom 3 for $148.

There’s some other really great smart home options as well, like the Ring Video Doorbell which is $149. The Amazon Echo Auto will add voice assistant to their car for $79. Tiles are a great product that you can attach to your keys, wallet etc so that you don’t lose them. They’re $79 for a two pack. If you’re feeling like splashing out, you can get a Samsung Smart Wi-Fi lock from Bunnings.

Smart Tech

If they’re into reading, you could grab them a Kindle Paperwhite which is $199. If you’re not wanting to splash out, the basic kindle is $139 and you can’t really go wrong with either of them. If they’ve been complaining about slow wifi speeds, the EERO mesh system is fantastic. It comes in either a one pack or a three pack for $199 or $429.

Smart lights are also a great gift that anyone would love. You can either go down the Philips Hue route which requires a hub for $79. Once you’ve got the hub, there’s a bunch of outdoor options and also globes that you can screw into any lamp or screw in light fitting. The globes will set you back $22 each. LIFX also has globes that you can purchase. They’re a little bit more expensive, but you don’t need a hub, with them connecting straight to WIFI. They start at $34.

GAMING

If you’re after games, obviously you’ll need to know what console they have, but you can’t go past the latest PS4 games such as Ghost of Tsushima for $69 or The Last Of Us Part II for $68. The new Tony Hawk game comes out in the next week or so, which will be on anyone’s wish list. Ring Fit Adventure is the ultimate excercise game and that’s currently $119.

Gaming

If they’ve got a Nintendo Switch, 51 Worldwide Games would make the absolute perfect gift. If you’re feeling extra generous (and they don’t have a Switch), you could grab them one. You can never have too many controllers either. The DualShock 4 is available for $78 whilst the Xbox One controller is $88. If you’re after a new headset it’s hard to go past the SteelSeries Arctis 3 headset for $120.

RANDOM

If you’re feeling super uninspired, here’s a few gift ideas. You could grab this Oral-B 700 Electric Toothbrush for $48, a bottle of CK Cologne for $42, this delightful tea set for $59 or Scrabble for $25.

Random

You can’t really ever go wrong with cook books either. How about Jamie Oliver’s 5 Ingredients for $24, Ottolenghi Simple for $28, Ottolenghi Flavour for $29 or the Meat-Smoking Manifesto for $35. If you’re feeling extra funky, why not get Snoop Dog’s Crook to Cook for $38.
