PlayStation is back with another discount offer on its upgraded PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe tiers, both for brand-new subscribers and anyone looking to upgrade from the base PlayStation Plus Essential tier.
From now until January 13th, both the Extra and Deluxe 12 month subscriptions are $55 off for new users. The Deluxe tier comes down to $99.95 from $154.95 for 12 months while Extra is down to $79.95 from $134.95 – a 40% discount in the case of the latter that puts it on par with the price of a regular 12 month Essential subscription.
Meanwhile, existing subscribers who upgrade from Essential to one of the higher tiers for 12 months will get 30% off their upgrade fee.

For a refresher, here’s what’s included in each tier of PlayStation Plus:
- PlayStation Plus Essential: No change to the regular PlayStation Plus. You’ll get access to online play as well as two free PS4 games and one free PS5 games every month as well as exclusive discounts
- PlayStation Plus Extra: PlayStation Plus Extra includes the previous Essential tier benefits as well as a catalogue of over 400 downloadable PS4/PS5 games including the likes of Returnal, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Marvel’s Guardian’s of the Galaxy, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Stray (when it launches), Demon Souls, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and more.
- PlayStation Plus Deluxe: PlayStation Plus Deluxe includes the previous Essential/Extra benefits as well as a catalogue of classic PlayStation PS1/PSP/PS2 games including the likes of Ape Escape, Syphon Filter, Resident Evil Director’s Cut and more. These classic games now include different display options, the ability to rewind and some even include trophies. It also includes game trials for titles such as Horizon Forbidden West (five hours) and WWE 2k22.
