Insomniac’s Spider-Man Game Is The Super Hero Game The World Needs

To close their E3 2017 press conference, Sony showed off some lengthy gameplay of the new Spider-Man game. Developed by Insomniac Games, the gameplay we were privy to see looks like it captures the feel and tone of the Spider-Man universe perfectly. Could this be the game that does for Spiderman what the Arkham series did for Batman? We certainly think so.

In the gameplay, we see lots of traversal and combat, both of which feature extensive use of Spider-Man’s unique abilities. I’ve never been one for comic book games myself but the dodge mechanics and combat options on offer here seem really impressive.

Not a lot of information about the game’s story besides the fact that Martin Li (Mister Negative) will appear as a villain and was in the trailer, but I’ve personally seen enough to know I’ll be grabbing it once it’s out unless those QTEs are truly plastered everywhere.

We’ve got a copy of the gameplay for you below.

Spider-Man is releasing exclusively for PlayStation 4 in 2018.
