Talk about your star-studded conferences. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Elijah Wood? Colour me pleased. Nevertheless, another Ubisoft conference has come and gone and they certainly brought with them a lot of goods. There was a bit of hot-mic action, but not a whole lot of surprises, thanks to the leaks from earlier in the month, but still a lot of rounded showings.
Let’s run through the key announcements from Ubisoft’s conference.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Brings Ancient Greece To Life
“Ubisoft took their time getting to it, but once they showed glimpses of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, it was certainly worth the wait. In a bevy of trailers, they lifted the lid on the game and it looks fantastic.”
Play The Crew 2 Yourself In The Upcoming Beta
“The Crew 2, out June 29th, is receiving an open beta running from June 21st – June 24th. You can register and preload the beta now, by visiting their site here.”
For Honor’s Marching Fire Update Is Its Biggest Yet
“For Honor’s loyal fanbase has sustained the brutal, fantastical combat game for its life so far and the family is about to get a little bigger. The upcoming Marching Fire update is set to add another four warriors to its roster, from a Chinese faction.”
Star Fox Is In Starlink: Battle For Atlas On Switch
“Previously announced toys-to-life Starlink: Battle for Atlas was shown off during Ubisoft’s E3 Conference where it was announced Star Fox would be in the game, in a continuation of Ubisoft’s partnership with Nintendo.”
Elijah Wood Appears To Show Us More Of Transference, And It’s Still Creepy
“Elijah Wood, co-founder of SpectreVision, appeared during Ubisoft’s star-studded conference to show off more of their debut title, Transference. It’s a mind-bending thriller that melds the storytelling of film with traditional gameplay elements.”
Take To The High Seas In Skull & Bones, Out 2019
“Creative director, Justin Farren, took to the stage to reveal the game is set in the Indian Ocean where you chase down treasure conscious of the dangers variable weather will create. Customisation options abound, you can alter the weapons and appearance of your ship.”
Donkey Kong Adventure Is Coming To Mario + Rabbids This Month
“Grant Kirkhope, composer and conductor, took to the stage during Ubisoft’s conference to put on quite a performance over the top of the trailer for Donkey Kong Adventure, the expansion coming to Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle later this month.”
The Division 2 Will Have Better Endgame Content
“As if you weren’t excited enough for the Division 2, Ubisoft has shown off a very slick, but equally haunting cinematic for the game due to come out March 15, 2019.”
Trials Is Back And Bigger Than Ever Before
“Trials is back and bigger than ever before after being introduced by a comically clumsy Evel Knievel clone. The game is called Trials Rising and its motto is “eat dirt, taste victory” which speaks to my experiences with the franchise so far.”
Beyond Good & Evil 2 Teases Return Of Jade, Introduces hitRECord Partnership
“The trailer introduces us to the game’s sublime cast one-by-one before their ship is set upon by an enormous threat. Fans will, of course, recognise a young Jade as the game’s apparent big bad which is certainly a stunning twist.”
Get Your Boogie On With Just Dance 2019 In October
“Ubisoft started their conference with a bit of pizazz, a dancing panda and some swing-playing, hip-thrusting saxophonists, announcing Just Dance 2019, coming October. The medley included a number of songs, including Elton John’s I’m Still Standing and Camila Cabello’s Havana.”
