Ninja Theory’s 4v4 Melee Game Bleeding Edge Has Leaked Ahead Of E3

In a year where leaks have been few and far between, it’s unfortunate for the team at Ninja Theory who have this morning had the wind taken out of their sales with the trailer for their follow-up to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice leaking before it could be revealed next week at E3.

The images on this post were captured by the Swedish blog Xboxer and though we won’t repost the leaked footage in its entirety, we can tell you a little about the game based on what we’ve seen.

Bleeding Edge is a 4v4 multiplayer melee combat game, not unlike something like For Honor. Though we bite-sized trailer didn’t show any gameplay footage, it did show off a number of its heroes, all of which are large, exaggerated and heavily-stylised like those you’d find in Overwatch. The brief clip introduces the colourful roster one-by-one all the while showing off an arsenal of hand-to-hand weapons like saw blades, swords and axes.

It also demonstrates how environmental hazards on the battlefield are likely to wreak havoc on unsuspecting players, which is sure to lead to some hilarious scenarios.

Rahni Tucker, the combat director for DmC: Devil May Cry, is confirmed as a member of the Bleeding Edge team through the trailer, which is a promising sign for the mechanical soundness of the game. The brief clip then closes with the news that a Technical Alpha for Bleeding Edge will be kicking off June 27.

We’re bound to find out more about Bleeding Edge once Microsoft’s keynote kicks E3 off on Monday morning.
