Microsoft Backs Down. Xbox One DRM Polices Pulled.

Breaking news everybody! Microsoft has changed it’s stance on Xbox One’s restricting DRM. It is now similar in line to the PS4.

The list of changes are as follows.

  • Internet will only be needed for initial set up.
  • Used Games are no longer restricted, no additional restrictions for trade-ins or lending games to friends.
  • System is no longer Region locked.
  • Downloaded Games will function the same way, whether or not the console is online.

This really does bring the Xbox One into line with the PS4. I guess the fan backlash and confusion surrounding the situation finally convinced Microsoft to change their minds.
