During EA’s Gamescom conference, they showed off a new trailer for Need for Speed, scheduled to be released November 3rd, 2015. There’s no gameplay in the trailer, just a bunch of brief glimpses of the cast of the game and some pretty nice cinematic shots, but for sure – if this is a game you’re excited about – it’ll be enough to get the adrenaline going and the blood pumping.
Author’s Note: When I say, “if this is a game you’re excited about – it’ll be enough to get the adrenaline going and the blood pumping” I’m somewhat lying. Let the record state that I WAS excited for this game. I loved Underground and Carbon; Hot Pursuit 2 is one of my favourite games of ALL TIME (I played that game so much the pause screen was burnt into my TV display and the back of my eyelids [not actually exaggerating, the TV was kinda ruined]), but this trailer had the OPPOSITE effect on me. Firstly, no gameplay, which ahead of a November release and considering we saw some at E3, is kinda ridiculous. Secondly, I sat there watching this trailer and watching the parade of people walk through the screen (in video cut scenes which I like mind you) thinking, “who the hell are these people? Are they famous or something? Should I know them?” Well, according to the background details on the Need for Speed website, I should. They’re “automotive artist[s]” and “undisputed king[s] of the internet”. Maybe I’m not in the right circles, but to a casual observer, I was left thinking, “these people don’t look like they belong here, orchestrating an underground street racing crew.” I’m not sure, that’s just my humble opinion. I’d love to know your reactions to this trailer!
