Tekkie game director Katsuhiro Harada has revealed in an interview with Gamespot that Tekken x Street Fighter has been put on hold. Originally announced in 2010, Harada has now revealed that the team didn’t want to divide the communities of Street Fighter or Tekken.
“We try to keep the core community in mind as well as the wider audience that wants to play these games. Currently the situation with fighting games is you have Street Fighter 5 and a large crowd out there waiting on Tekken 7. We don’t want to split these communities.”
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution was confirmed to still be on track and will release for PS4 later this year, with confirmed PlayStation VR support.
