As expected, Apple announced the iPhone 8/8 Plus. It is faster, features a glass back, better cameras and wireless charging.

It comes in Space Grey, Gold and Silver. The form factor is quite comparable to that of the 7/7 Plus but due to the new glass back, it will look and feel quite different in the hand.

iPhone 8/8 Plus Release Date

The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will release on Friday, September 22nd and preorders will start both online for Apple and across various Telcos on Friday, September 15th at 5:01pm AEST.

iPhone 8 Pricing

iPhone 8 Plus Pricing

iPhone X

We got to learn more about the iPhone X over the weekend with the iOS 11 GM leaking. As predicted it has a massive OLED screen (which Apple is calling Super Retina), no home button and some pretty impressive face recognition technology (which Apple is calling Face ID). Similarly to the iPhone 8, it has wireless charging and better cameras than any iPhone before it.

At the time of launch, the iPhone X will only come in Space Grey and Silver. It also features a completely glass back but it’s pretty impressively designed. It’s only a tad larger than an iPhone 7 (or 8) but the screen is larger than an iPhone 7 Plus (or 8 Plus).

The iPhone X also only comes in either 64gb or 256gb which could be quite an issue for people as there’s quite a big gap both in price and in storage capacity between these tw models.

iPhone X Release Date

Annoyingly, the iPhone X won’t release until the 3rd of November with preorders not kicking off until the 27th of October at 6:01pm. This is likely due to the fact that Apple has had a hard time ramping up production.

iPhone X Pricing

  • 64GB – $1,579
  • 256GB – $1,829
