Sony Is Releasing A New Robotic Dog And It Looks Like A Very Good Boy

20 years after the release of the original, Sony is bringing back the AIBO, their robotic dog.

Straight out of an episode of Black Mirror, this thing can express a range of emotions, learn to love its owner. It even has two OLED for eyes. There’s obviously wifi and cloud support as with any device released in the last three years.

The battery will last around two hours, and take about three hours to reach, so you’ll only get a limited amount of play time, but this could be a genuine replacement for an actual dog (without the mess, or the endless barking).

It’s releasing in Japan next week for 198,000 yen (or $1,700 USD), so it’s definitely not cheaper than a real dog, but it will almost certainly get more attention.
