According to a post by ESL Australia via Twitter, fan-favourite eSports event Intel Extreme Masters will not be held in Sydney this year.
We normally send @DannyKimHD out just before our big events, but for #IEM this year, he wanted to queue up early.
Things didn't go to plan, however… pic.twitter.com/xCdpZYcRU2

Though this may be slightly disappointing news for fans who have attended the event since it first arrived on Australian shores in 2017 and who have grown fond of shoeys in Olympic Park, we say fear not. Fans are already speculating that the event will be held in much the same way but in Melbourne this year, possibly to assist The Victorian Government’s efforts to turn the city into Australia’s gaming capital.
We don’t know much more than this for now but we will certainly keep up to date as this story develops and once we know when and where the Intel Extreme Masters will be held this year.
