EB Games has now officially launched Zing Marketplace and started advertising it on its social channels meaning that it should start to become way more populated with items. You can find the website HERE.
Introducing… Zing Marketplace! The ultimate place to BUY and SELL pop culture treasure! ?
EB Games is set to launch an online marketplace called Zing Marketplace. This will be a place where Australians can list retro video games, trading cards and other pop culture collectibles for sale. Unlike eBay, people won’t bid for these items but they’ll rather be listed for a price of their choice, which can be negotiated between the seller/buyer. EB Games will also list Zing items on the Marketplace at a buy it now price.
EB Games is set to take a fee from the sale, which is an amount that we believe has yet to be decided. It’s expected that the Zing Marketplace is set to launch in the next few weeks. You can look at the website here, but it doesn’t look like regular people can list items yet.
When it comes to gaming items, EB Games won’t allow PS4/PS5/Xbox Series X/Nintendo Switch games/consoles to be listed on Zing Marketplace unless they’re Collector’s Editions or Limited Edition consoles. The consoles/games that they will allow to be listed are below:
Nintendo Entertainment System
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
Nintendo Game Cube
Nintendo Wii U
Game Boy Colour
Game Boy Advance
Sega Master System
Sega Game Gear
EB Games will also list Zing items on the marketplace, although these will be available at a buy it now price (assumedly for the same price that they’re listed on the regular EB Games website for).
We’ll be keen to see how this goes after it officially launches. Whilst we suspect that your everyday person might still opt to go to the likes of Facebook Marketplace, I think that this could become a place where collectors go to list items that only other collectors could appreciate. If EB Games properly moderate it, then it could be a great place to buy/sell valuable items.
