EB Games Is Bringing Back Trade 1 Plant 1 This Week And Turning Your Games Into Trees

Finally, Anthem can do some good.

With Earth Day coming up on Saturday April 22nd, EB Games is once again partnering with non-profit organisation One Tree Planted to run a special trade promotion where a single tree will be planted for every game or other item that customers trade in during the promotional period.

The event runs this week from Wednesday April 19th to Tuesday April 25th with the usual EB trade policies in place.

Last year the event saw 29,000 trees planted in Australia, an increase over the previous year’s 25,000. It’s enough to cover over 300 tennis courts or over 6,500 carparks – two things we could probably do with less of anyway. It’s a huge effort, and hopefully one that the Aussie community can rally around again and outdo by an even greater number this time around.

Hey! You could even trade your old games and accessories towards the new Xbox Wireless Controller – Remix Special Edition, a snazzy green-coloured version of its standard Xbox controller that’s made from one-third recycled materials, continuing the company’s efforts towards reducing its impact on the planet.

The controller – which also comes packaged in with the Xbox Rechargeable Battery for obvious reasons – is constructed from post-consumer recycled resins made with regrind, the process of turning things like CDs, plastic jugs and even old Xbox One-generation parts into raw materials to be used to create new products. Like the EB Games Trade 1 Plant 1 promo, it’s all in the name of Earth Day and thinking about how we use and reuse what we take from the Earth and the efforts we’re making to ensure our stay on this planet is long and sustainable.

The Xbox Wireless Controller – Remix Special Edition is out now and you can pick one up for yourself at your local EB Games.
