These new renders are *chef's kiss*

Netflix has finally announced the launch date for its upcoming animated Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sonic Prime.

Revealed exclusively on IGN, the series will be dropping on the streaming service on December 15, 2022.

“The action-packed adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog go into overdrive when a run-in with Dr. Eggman results in a literal universe-shattering event. Desperate to piece his prime reality back together and save his old friends, Sonic races through the Shatterverse, discovering strange worlds and enlisting new friends in an epic adventure of a lifetime!”

Alongside the release date announcement, some gorgeous new character posters were revealed, which you can see in the below tweets from Netflix Geeked (the Tails erasure here is criminal but a poster for him does exist):

The cast behind these impressive renders includes Deven Christian Mack as Sonic, Ashleigh Ball as Tails, Adam Nurada as Knuckles, Brian Drummond as Eggman, Shannon Chan-Kent as Amy, Kazumi Evans as Rouge and Ian Hanlin as both Shadow and Big the Cat.
