Here’s An Exclusive Magic: The Gathering Phyrexia: All Will Be One Card Preview

We've got an exclusive early look at one of the set's new cards!

The next big Magic: The Gathering set, Phyrexia: All Will Be One, is dropping soon on February 10th and we’re lucky enough to have a global exclusive card reveal from the set.

After our heroes revisit the past in The Brothers’ War, their attention must turn to the growing threat in front of them with Phyrexia: All Will Be One—and they won’t all make it out unscathed—or unchanged.

Phyrexia: All Will Be One explores the plane of New Phyrexia, showing us what the home of the Phyrexians is like—and what the dominance of the Praetor Elesh Norn means. Here, all will be one, and there is no power great enough to stop her from seeing that vision through.

Without further ado though, let’s take a look at the exclusive reveal of one of the brand-new cards in MtG’s Phyrexia: All Will Be One set. Here’s Staff of Compleation:

Pictured: Staff of Compleation card in both standard (left) and oil slick raised foil (right) designs variants.

Staff of Compleation is a three-mana cost artifact card with five abilities – four of which cost player life and tap the card, and one final ability costing five mana to untap the card again. Each tapped/life cost ability has somewhat increasingly beneficial effects at the expense of up to four life, from destroy an owned permanent all the way up to proliferating (adding an extra counter to any/all permanents or players that have them already) or drawing a card.

It definitely strikes as a card with a high skill ceiling and strategic potential and it obviously fits with the overarching Phyrexia lore with the “Mother of Machines,” Elesh Norn and her penchant for “compleating” those she wishes to dominate by turning them into Phyrexian machine life forms.
