Big Ant Studios Has Opened A New Studio In Adelaide

This is how you get (big) ants.

Big Ant Studios, the folks behind the upcoming AFL 23 and Cricket 24 games, have just announced the launched of a brand-new studio location in South Australia.

The studio has opened up on Franklin Street in Adelaide, and will reportedly create 60 new jobs in the local industry with artist, programming and engineering jobs all set to open up as well as a graduate training program later in the year.

Big Ant says it was attracted to the location thanks to South Australia’s 10 percent Video Game Development Rebate.

“When it comes to video game development, South Australia has an incredible pedigree, from the days of Ratbag through to the current crop of developers, it is a State that has always punched well above its weight,” said Ross Symons, Founder of Big Ant Studios, in the press release.

“Big Ant Studios have been looking to harness that talent and expand into South Australia but been waiting for the right time. The announcement by the South Australian Government of the 10 per cent rebate for video game development makes South Australia incredibly attractive and competitive.

“This support has signalled to us that South Australia is serious about the games industry, it has given us the confidence to bring our expansion plans forward, accelerating local employment and placing a major development contract in our new Adelaide studio.”

Big Ant’s next game, AFL 23, is set to launch very soon on April 13th and looks to be the biggest and most fully-featured AFL title yet. Meanwhile, Cricket 24 is coming as soon as June this year and will similarly up the ante in features, gameplay and realism.
