Zero Latency Is Giving Away Over $20K To The World’s Best VR Zombie Killer

That's a lot of zeroes, and still no latency.

Do you fancy yourself especially skilled at slaying virtual zombies? Do you live in one of many places on the world? If yes, I have an opportunity for you!

Zero Latency, the hugely-successful free roam VR network that opened its first location right here in Melbourne in 2015 before quickly taking over the world, is celebrating a massive milestone of 3 million players across the planet in true style – by pitting gamers against each other in a global VR zombie-murdering competition.

Building on the popularity of one of its earliest and most enduring VR experiences, Undead Arena, the Champions of the Undead competition is a high-stakes, high-score showdown between players at any of the 70+ Zero Latency venues worldwide, where folks can play a round of Undead Arena in the hopes of rocketing up the global leaderboard and facing off against the highest-scoring zombie slayers in a Grand Final in Las Vegas.

Up for grabs, aside from a whirlwind trip to Sin City to compete in the Grand Final, is a cool $15K USD (around $22K AUD) first prize along with VIVE XR Elite headsets for the runners-up.

To find out more about how to get in on the Champions of the Undead competition as well as the relevant Ts and Cs, head here, and if you’re keen to jump in and try your skill at a round of Undead Arena you can make a booking for up to eight players over here.

“This is the first time in our history that we’re bringing our global community together in this exciting way, and giving back to the players that have supported us,” said Zero Latency’s CEO Tim Ruse in an accompanying press release. “We’re thrilled that we’ve now seen three million plays across the globe since we started this journey ten years ago, with people continually looking for experiences that allow them to connect with others. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with this competition, on a scale that we’ve never done before. We’re continuing to innovate and grow, and are looking forward to the next 3 million plays from our dedicated, passionate players worldwide.”
