Star Ocean Second Story R, the exciting new 2.5D reimagining of the excellent 1998/99/2000 PS1 RPG, is right around the corner with a November 2nd release date, and Square Enix has dropped a chunky demo for fans and curious newcomers to check out ahead of time.
The Star Ocean Second Story R demo includes three cities, two dungeons and two bosses and gives players an in-depth look into the opening hours of the game as they choose their protagonist, battle with three party members and check out some of this updated version’s new features.
Best of all, progress made in the demo will carry across into the main game when it launches. Cross-generation saving is also possible on PlayStation, so those checking out the demo on the PS4 will be able to continue their game on the PS5, if their console situation should get an upgrade in the time between.
