Good news for fans of Bethesda Game Studios‘ The Elder Scrolls and/or Fallout Shelter, as the company surprise-dropped a new game, titled The Elder Scrolls: Castles, on the Google Play Store in recent days and it’s essentially a new take on the Fallout Shelter gameplay wrapped in the high fantasy setting of The Elder Scrolls.
The less-good news is that, while the game is currently flagged as being in “early access” on Android, and is visible on the Play Store right here, it’s seemingly had its early access capacity exhausted and is no longer available to download in most regions.
When it does become available again, players cane expect to build out a generations-long dynasty by building and customising their castle from the ground up, managing its day-to-day operations, developing their subjects, extending their lineage with heirs and maintaining the glory of their kingdom. Each year in the game plays out over a single real-word day, and players will need to make tough decisions to either lead their kingdom to prosperity or doom.
While there aren’t any official trailers available for The Elder Scrolls: Castles just yet, a few players have begun uploading footage of the game in action for those curious, like the below from PalmassGames:

It’s clear pretty quickly how much this one is inspired by Fallout Shelter, so if you’re a fan of that experience and don’t mind swapping out post-apocalyptic survival management for something a bit more swords-and-sorcery, you should keep an eye out for this one.
