Everything Revealed At The Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase

So much fun stuff on the way!

Disney Dreamlight Valley had a huge showcase event overnight that brought with it some exciting new announcements and added details on the future of the game (which, it was just announced, is leaving Early Access soon but no longer going free-to-play).

The showcase introduced a number of brand-new and very magical additions coming to the game as well as shed some light and offered firm launch dates on previously-announced features. Here’s everything that happened:

UPDATE #8 BRINGS JACK SKELLINGTON AND MULTIPLAYER

Jack Skellington of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas fame is making his debut in the game as part of Dreamlight Valley’s eight major update on December 5th, and bringing with him a “new” holiday for the Valley.

This update will also bring with it the highly-anticipated multiplayer mode for the game, allowing players to finally visit each other’s Valleys. Not only will you be able to check out your friends’ decorating skills, but you’ll be able to visit their version of Scrooge McDuck’s shop to check out a whole different range of stock and exchange items with each other.

Gameloft says the multiplayer experience will evolve over time with new ways to interact with friends.

DISNEY DREAMLIGHT VALLEY’s FIRST PAID EXPANSION IS ALSO COMING ON DECEMBER 5TH

The showcase gave us a first look at Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time, which is a new paid expansion that takes players to an entirely new world with three brand-new biomes in Ancient’s Landing, Glittering Dunes and Wild Tangle.

The expansion will include a new main story featuring Jafar from Disney’s Aladdin and will be told across three acts with the first kicking off in the December release while the second and third will arrive in 2024.

The first act will introduce multiple new characters including EVE from Pixar’s WALL-E, Gaston from Beauty and the Beast and Rapunzel from Tangled, all adding to their franchises’ existing suite of characters in the base game. The next two acts promise to introduce even more characters.

A new royal tool called the Royal Hourglass will also be added. You can see the roadmap for content in A Rift In Time below:
