Here’s An Exclusive Magic: The Gathering Fallout Card Preview

Rad.

Magic: The Gathering’s next big Universes Beyond set is nearly here, and it’s taking players to the irradiated wastes of Bethesda’s epic RPG series, Fallout.

The Universes Beyond Fallout set spans the history of the franchise from the Interplay/Black Isale days of Fallout 1 and 2 to the Bethesda-led modern entries with cards based on iconic locations, ferocious mutants, fan-favourite characters (including Dogmeat!) and familiar motifs.

If you’ve got a Nuka-Cola sized thirst for more on this exciting set, you can visit the official page for Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond – Fallout and don’t forget to attend your local pre-release event for the set – you can head here to locate your nearest pre-release at a Wizards Play Networks store.

Without further ado though, let’s take a look at our exclusive preview of one of the brand-new cards in MtG’s new Fallout release. I present you the…

NUKA-NUKE LAUNCHER

Nuka-Nuke Launcher is an Artifact – Equipment card with a play cost of (2) and an equip cost of (3). Equipping a creature with the Nuka-Nuke Launcher gives them +3 power as well as Intimidate, which means they can only be blocked by artifact creatures and/or creatures which share at least one colour.

A secondary effect is that whenever a creature equipped with Nuka-Nuke Launcher attacks, the defending player will get two “rad counters” any time they cast a spell during their next turn. Irradiated players must mill a card for each rad counter they have at the beginning of precombat phase, and lose 1 life (and the rad counter) for each nonland card milled this way, making this a particularly nasty way to inflict some lasting, nuclear-powered pain on your opponent/s.

And here’s a look at the full Nuka-Nuke Launcher art, which comes from artist Uriah Voth.

You can pre-order Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond – Fallout at your local TCG retailer now, including here at EB Games.
